Hos Bloombergs finns en intressant artikel om irakier som flytt från krig och ockupation till svenska fred och frihet i Södertälje. Över 20 000 irakier har fått en tillflyktsort i Sverige, och i år väntas 4 000 till komma. En fantastisk gest av solidaritet.

While Sweden didn’t participate in the invasion or occupation of Iraq, it has accepted more refugees than any other industrial nation, United Nations figures show. More than 4 million Iraqis have been displaced, and 2 million have permanently left the country, according to a June 6 UN report.
In contrast, the U.S. granted asylum to 535 Iraqis last year.
Muna, som anlände tidigare i år säger:
We expected a better life when the U.S. attacked Iraq. Instead we got the exact opposite. There are good people in Sweden and we thank the Swedish people.
